VMware vCloud Director was announced some time ago and it’s still consider new to me. I was contacted by William from StratoGen and they are looking for vCloud Director Beta user.

StratoGen will shortly be launching an exciting new cloud platform based on VMware vcloud Director. This breakthrough product offers a huge range of exciting features allowing you to build, deploy and manage your own private cloud using our class leading infrastructure.

StratoGen are seeking experienced VMware users to join the StratoGen vCloud Beta Program which is based on VMware vCloud Director.

Beta testing is a crucial element in the cycle of our product releases, and we work closely with the VMware community to ensure our products are the best they can be. vCloud Director is a powerful but complex product and as such we are seeking experienced users to provide informed feedback on our product offering.

By participating in the program you will be provided with resources on our enterprise platform enabling you to build, deploy and manage virtual machines, vApps and networks using the StratoGen vCloud Director portal. You will be contacted on a periodic basis for feedback.

VMware Lifecycle Manager 1.1 has focused on enterprise scalability, performance, and enhanced quality improvements. It had tested to run with more than 3,000 VM’s and several hundred registered vCenter objects (such as datastores, resource pools, networks, etc) across multiple vCenter instances. Beta is open to anyone who registers through vmware.com.

My personal point of view, this had been something we are looking at for quite sometime. It will be really nice that we could virtualize the data center, with the combination of cloud computing concept cum the virtualize data center together. As more and more application including messaging, ERP, Web hosting are adopting to virtualize, I believe the virtual datacenter will able to simplify and provide better way of managing the next generation enterprise computing.

Not sure when the Beta test will be started, but I will be more than happy to be enrolled if possible.
