Hitachi Storage Manager for VMware vCenter

Finally Hitachi Data System(HDS) released the Storage Manager Plugin for VMware vCenter server.

Hitachi Data Systems announces the availability of specific integration for VMware’s vCenter called “Hitachi Storage
Manager for VMware vCenter”. Hitachi, Ltd. and Hitachi Data Systems jointly developed this functionality in which this will
be installed as a separate plug-in for VMware vCenter. Customers upgrading to vSphere 4.1 and vSphere 5.0 using the
Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage 2000, Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform or Hitachi Universal Storage Platform V will
automatically be able to leverage the capabilities of this key integration.

I have a discussion about VMware vCenter Storage Plugin during VMware Hitachi boot camp today.

As I know EMC have EMC Storage Viewer, EMC Celera SRM Failback Tool & EMC Celera SRM Failback Tool and NetApp have Rapid Cloning Utility (RCU), Virtual Storage Console (VSC), SnapManager® for Virtual Infrastructure & SANScreen® VMInsight vCenter Plugin. I’m not going to discuss about the vCenter plugin features here.

How to remove Cisco Nexus 1000V plugin

The Cisco Nexus 1000V switch is a pure software implementation of a Cisco Nexus switch. It resides on a server and integrates with the hypervisor to deliver VN-Link virtual machine-aware network services. The Cisco Nexus 1000V switch takes advantage of the VMware vSphere vNetwork Distributed Switch framework to offer tightly integrated network services as part of both a server virtualization strategy and a broader data center virtualization strategy. Installing the Performance Overview Plugin issue

Previously Craig posted Database Upgrade during vCenter 2.5 Update 4 Installation, and I’m facing an issue during installing the “Performance Overview Plugin”.

Referring to VMware KB Article 1008296 – Installing the Performance Overview Plug-In in VirtualCenter 2.5 Update 4, the installation process is pretty straight forward and I was get stuck with “install.bat “.

Basically I can only found “vpx/perfCharts” folder inside “VMware-VIMSetup-2.5.0-U4-English.iso”. When I issued an “install.bat” command I’m get an “Access is deniederror message. I believed the reason is I can’t write anything into Drive H: folder which mounted as Read Only with Daemon Tools.
