this is cool and really exciting to wait for the public beta on this
NDA??
just some screen shot for preview purpose on next version of ESX 4. I think they had demo this during the VMworld 2008 too.
We will remove the screenshots if anyone authorized from VMware confirm that.
You risk getting kicked out of the beta program by doing this as you signed an NDA to gain access to this beta. I wouldn’t wait for a VMware response as it might not be one that you will like.
Duncan is official VMware. this is a serious breach of the NDA, and this was in no way a Demo at VMworld.
Personally I think this is OK because it’s just a screenshot without disclose any details. How about this link http://www.virtualization.info/2008/09/what-to-expect-at-vmworld-esx-40-beta.html ? You can easily found tons of Windows 7 screenshots everywhere.
I am wondering if there is no demo with new version, how VMware demo the new features during VMworld, because I am not in the vmworld this year, maybe you guys can share a little bit more on that?
That information was all released at VMworld BY VMware, they don’t fall under a NDA because it’s their product and they can announce what they want. Virtualization.info was simply reporting what they found out and they don’t fall under an NDA anyway. If you are part of the Beta program and you sign an NDA you can get in big trouble if you violate it. It is a legal document you sign and if you violate the terms of the NDA there are all sorts of things they can do to you.
Hi Jason, can you pull the screenshots? Thanks. Consider this an official request from VMware. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any other questions. jtroyer@vmware.
To other folks, although we did reveal at VMworld some details about what we are releasing next year, these screen shots reveal extra details we did not talk about. Also, because this is a beta, we can’t guarantee what will go in the next product or even what it’s version number will be — that’s why these things are best kept private.
Thanks – appreciate it.
Hi John, done as per request. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
