I am current setup the Cisco UCS in my office for the coming event on this Wednesday and Friday, I managed to do some screen shots to share with you all about the outlook of Cisco UCS Manager and integrated Virtual KVM.
Here is the 1st screen shots for Cisco UCS Manager which show the physical chassis configuration from single console. The chassis outlook showing the exact picture of how the blade had been inserted to the chassis. It provide all the hardware inventory for each single blade in multiple chassis from the UCS Manager.
Here are the screen that allow you to manage, create and delete the Service Profiles for Cisco UCS. The Service Profiles is a key thing as it virtualize the hardware information such as Bios, UUID, WWN, MAC and etc. It allow user to have stateless computing when you choose to relocate the blade system cross different blade or UCS chassis that connected to same UCS 6100 Fabric Interconnect cluster.
Here is the Virtual KVM that come by default which allow administrator to access to server console for administration purpose. The Virtual KVM are integrated with KVM over IP. You need to 1st created a pool of IP which been reserve for the Virtual KVM purpose before you can utilize this features.
You can also launch the virtual media from the virtual KVM console, which allow you to map your local DVD Drive or mount any ISO images from your local machine and install the UCS Server. This will help to save the environment by performing installation without any DVD or CD. Images or software installation sources are very often updated and able to be downloaded from the software provider at anytime you need from internet service. I had installed 5 UCS server by using the virtual media and I will say is very stable.
